We spoke yesterday about the portal or tan t’ien which lies at the borderline between pure conscious me and fundamental me. We can refer to it as the tan t’ien of pure conscious me, since pure conscious me is the first one to access it.
There are two levels of entry or opening within this portal. The first is just an opening without any actual passing through it. When pure conscious me reaches the absolute I am, when it becomes absolute pure conscious me, it doesn’t move through that portal, but that portal becomes like an open doorway into absence for it. Pure conscious me realizes the state of pure rest, absolute rest. Then based on that foundation, conscious me reaches such absolute rest, becoming absolute me, and based on that foundation, the observer is reaching absolute rest, which is what we call the pure observer. These three centers – pure conscious me, conscious me and the observer – are in the state of vertical pure rest, in the state of absence. In this way, we have accessed the first level of our evolution through the portal of pure conscious me. It has become an open door for the three centers to reach vertically absolute restfulness.
The next level is when conscious me becomes absorbed in pure conscious me, merges with pure conscious me, which also includes, as we know, absorption of the observer, resulting in the realization of absolute I. Absolute I allows us to experience vertical absence in a stronger way because now conscious me has reached that threshold of the portal into absence. Before, conscious me was experiencing that absence through pure conscious me; pure conscious me was like a mediator, a space in between. Now, conscious me is directly in the absolute I am, which allows one to realize the absolute I am in a stronger way; the realization is simply more powerful.
After that the next level of surrender is activated where we enter deeper into that tan t’ien or through that tan t’ien. That absolute I enters through it into fundamental me; it crosses that threshold. And that threshold is at the bottom of the frontal lobe. One can experience absence without crossing this threshold just by the fact that the portal is fully opened. But crossing that threshold, passing through that tan t’ien allows us to realize absolute I am even deeper. When absolute I merges with fundamental me, not only will we have realized the absolute I am, we have embodied it.
So, the first level of merging with the fundamental me involves a deeper realization of the absolute I am, but this place in which absolute I has merged with fundamental me is also a threshold, entry way, to the primordial I am. It is a type of primordial threshold where the absolute I am intersects the primordial I am. And how to cross that threshold? How to cross that line from embodying absolute I am into the actual primordial I am? Where is the doorway to primordial I am? Even if absolute I, already in unity with fundamental me strives to extend the limits of its surrender, it will still not reach primordial I am because the doorway to primordial I am is immanent, and to enter that doorway, we need to activate self-absorption in the absolute I which has now merged with the fundamental me. That deepest self-absorption, we can call immanent selfabsorption.
Realization of the immanent I am equals instant unity with the primordial I am. In that sense, immanent I am is not really a portal or doorway, essence-me is the doorway. One has to pass the doorway of the essence-me through self-absorption in order to embody the light of immanent I am, and then unity with primordial I am is instant.
The challenge here is to cross over from ordinary self-absorption where the absolute I is self-absorbed in essence-me to immanent self-absorption where the hidden chamber within the essence-me becomes revealed – the shrine of immanent I am. Immanent I am exists beyond dimensions. It is dimensionless – it’s not up, it’s not down, it’s not back – it just is. Merging with the immanent I am is the final act of pure attention.
For essence-me to access immanent I am, to activate immanent self-absorption, it has to be in a profound state of vertical surrender. It has to be in this perfect surrender, so perfect that even the surrender of the absolute I, from that standpoint is imperfect. Absolute I is in a state of absence. Primordial I is in a state of absence of absence. The place where absolute I reaches unity with fundamental me is a threshold between absence and absence of absence.
In that sense, for essence-me to actualize immanent I am it not only has to be free from presence, but also from absence, from the kind of absence which is realized through the absolute I am. The meeting of absence realized on the level of absolute I and the absence realized on the level of fundamental me, which is like a meeting of two absences, brings one to that threshold where ordinary absence can be transcended. And then we can enter into the temple of the one who is the source of absence and presence, the one who exists beyond dimensions, the hidden – not only from manifestation, but also from the unmanifested – one undivided nameless god of primordial I am.
